RI - The Wizard of Oz LB Series

From: Trish Kurdziel (trishkri@yahoo.com) | Date: 2002-06-28 18:54:22 UTC-07:00

Get your mountain bikes prepped, your hiking shoes tied and Fido leashed for it is time to follow the yellow brick road in search of the Wizard of Oz.  After a year in the planning and planting this series of 8 boxes carved and planted by eight different groups or individuals is ready for the 'boxing public.

Special thanks to Melissa who made several trips over the 8 miles of dirt roads and trails to the boxes to link them all together.

Glad to see the Wizard of Oz is finally out - and right in the same
area as our Carolina series - so anyone "off to see the Wizard" might
want to stop by and visit our boxes there, too! Thanks,

The Wizard of Oz series is A-#1 & a 10 in my book. Riding your bike
through the dirt roads with a dog at your side it doesn't take much
imagination to feel like you are really in Kansas/Oz. Due to a time
constraint I only got to do the first 4 boxes but I absolutely loved
it! I can't wait to go back and finish and do the Emerald City.

This is a "must do" for all letterboxers in the RI area. The stamps
are beautiful & the trails great.

Thank you so much to the organizers and stamp carvers.
